Here are some of my favorites:

I want to preface my words by saying - These are my Favorit Artists - That is - Not including Bob Marley who belongs to his own category in my heart.

I also loved many other artist not specifically in the Reggae genre - Their name are Joe Dassin, Jonaz (Le chanteur de Jazz), Akendegue, Manu Dibango, Kassav, Jaques Brel, Francis Cabrel, Toure Kounda, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, listened to disco, funk, afro pop, jazz and many more genre that I hope will be infiltrating my vibes through my music and songs.

My Favs are mainly Reggae - but not only reggae - just dont have enough page on here to cover them all - but I promise we'll get there with time and I will share most of the artist I enjoy with you all. I hope to be able to have a webradio and why not a web tvstation soon so you can enjoy live streaming of many genres..
To God be the glory! and Praises.

I checked his website and didn't find it unbelievable - Nice but not great. Then I heard his latest CD Live and It was like whoah - This is real good...I enjoyed it so much felt like you should check him out.

Hi sstyle has some deep bass roots rythms and some great raping tings, and the poetry is nice. Over all the enrgy and soul is awesome and the sound is super deep - thx to the band - This is a great first impression!!!

Tiken Jah - From Ivory Coast

Tiken Jah in Africa
tikenjahspeakers.jpg

Tiken Jah is a new voice for African Reggae, but he's been around for a few years and really should become more known over the next year or so.

He's got the best of the best working with him, the African sound and the old roots vibes.

Coup de Geule is an acoustic, analog, modern and old at the same time, splendid album. delightfull.

It is very politicaly realistic and denounce all the inequalities and horror that we know exit in Africa.

It reminds of Alpha for the good reasons, but it has more soul into it and more creativity. It sound fresh and pure. Really - I still enjoy and love Alpha Blondy but this is real good and it should inspire more African Reggae Artist to do the same.

Magic System - Bouger Bouger!

magicsystem.jpg

Magic System is one of the bright shining star of African Music right now! The Band made of 4 guys, Asalfo, Goudé, Tino et Manadja, is incredible. I got their CD after my parents had the joy to be at an evening in Gabon where they animated the party. They loved it and bought me a CD. Now I listen to the CD in my car and at home and I tell you they are fantastic.

They move every one, even my kids who have never been to Africa are moving when they hear their songs. Transcending languages and culture, their hot rythmes and songs are making people move, "bouger", and move and move :)

Of course if you understand their lyrics you get some out of it too, especially that song with Alpha Blongy where they talk about the situation in Ivory Coast. But the best is when they hook up with latin rappers or French rappers I dont know, but that is awesome...
They are fantastic and I hope we'll meet some day, but till them check them out!

Steel Pulse - Real Strong!

Steel Pulse Live in Europe
steelpulsedbeurope311.jpg

Steel Pulse is one of my top 5 favorite bands of all times since Reggae Sunsplash 1982. Really, their music makes me feel happy. I missed their concert in Nice, France, last time I was there, but I wont miss it again if they come near where I am.

I am glad to see they are still going strong and their last CD is awesome. It could have won the grammy but since they were in it alone without the super stars powers that Toots had I guess you can give it to Toots for the Grammy. But really the music is awesome in African Holocaust. Enjoy and support these guys!
